Our Parnassus Arts Productions artist, Sorin COLIBAN (bass), has been performing the roles of the Shadow and Father Augustin in Sergei Prokofiev’s rarely performed opera The Betrothal in a Monastery since its premiere on March 26, 2025, marking his second collaboration with the Musiktheater an der Wien. The performances, directed by Damiano Michieletto and conducted by Dmitry Matvienko, will take place for Sorin Coliban on March 31 (today), April 2, 5, 7, and 9, 2025.
In June 2024, Sorin Coliban made his debut at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna as Fasolt in Das Rheingold. This season, he has already performed with the Filarmonica George Enescu, at the Teatrul Național de Operă Nae Leonard, the Opera Nationala Timisoara, and with the Noua Orchestra Transilvana. In June 2025, Sorin will perform the role of Fafner in Wagner’s Siegfried at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.
